Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the fog safe for people, pets, and electronics?
Yes. PROTECT’s fog is completely harmless and similar to stage smoke. It’s been tested and approved by independent labs, including the Danish Technological Institute.
2. How quickly does the fog fill a room?
In just a few seconds, visibility drops to near zero. The exact time depends on room size, layout, and the Fog Cannon model. Your installer will ensure optimal coverage.
3. How long does the fog last?
Without ventilation, the fog lingers for up to an hour. We recommend airing out the room within 60 minutes for best results.
4. Will it leave any residue?
No. The fog evaporates cleanly without leaving a mess. On rare occasions, a light wipe with a dry cloth may be needed on horizontal surfaces.
5. Is it real smoke?
No. While it looks like smoke, it’s actually water-based fog and completely safe to breathe. Fire detectors must be compatible to avoid false alarms – your installer can help.
6. Can a burglar just wait for the fog to clear?
Unlikely. If movement is detected, the fog cannon can re-activate. Plus, PROTECT’s fog hangs in the air for up to an hour – most intruders flee within seconds.
7. What if the power is cut?
PROTECT Fog Cannons have built-in backup batteries that keep them ready for up to 3 hours, even during a power outage.
8. Isn’t an alarm system enough?
An alarm may notify you – but it doesn’t stop a burglary in progress. Fog actively prevents theft by blocking visibility and forcing intruders to retreat.
9. Can it be used for personal protection?
Yes. In the event of a robbery, the fog can be deployed as a visual barrier between the intruder and people inside – used in homes, shops, and offices.
10. Can I hide the fog cannon?
Absolutely. All Fog Cannon models can be installed above ceilings or behind walls with a discreet nozzle. Contact us to find out more information about the hidden installations.
